Edgar D. Plowman

August 2, 1932 - November 3, 2021

Edgar “Ed” D. Plowman, of Wrightsville, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 4:14 PM at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy at the age of 89. Ed was the husband of Evelyn R. (Lentz) Plowman to whom he married on August 19, 1950, sharing 71 years of marriage. Ed was born on August 2, 1932 and was the son of the late Edgar M. and Ethel (Andrews) Plowman. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Armstrong where he retired from in 1992 after 35 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Ed was a quiet man who enjoyed spending his free time hunting and relaxing, as well as spending time with his family. Besides his wife, Ed leaves behind his six daughters: Jeanne L. Schmid, of Wrightsville, Bonnie L. Radomski and husband, John, of Wharton, NY, Cheryl A. Barshinger and husband, David, of Roulette, PA, Annette Y. Brandon and husband, Daniel, of Halstead, PA, Belinda S. Sterner and husband, James, of Delta, CO, Michelle N. Gordon and husband, David, of Wrightsville, as well as his two sons, Rodney L. Plowman and wife, Linda, of Wrightsville, and Kerry A. Plowman, of Wrightsville. He also leaves behind his thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, as well as his two sisters: Lona M. Lebinslager, of Strinestown and Linda Caplinger and husband, Fred, of Dover, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Garth, Wilbur, Albert, David and Jennifer. A viewing for Ed will take place on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 6-7 PM at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise will begin at 7 PM with Rev. Daniel L. Brandon officiating. Burial will take place at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens and will be private & at the convenience of the family. Contributions in memory of Ed may be offered to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
