James W Knaub

May 21, 1948 - February 22, 2022

James William Knaub, 73, formerly of Red Lion, entered into God’s care on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022, at his home at Westminster Place on Queen Street. He was the husband of the late Donna L. (Poff) Knaub. A heartfelt thank you goes to the friends and family that were there to surround him with love and provide care for him. James was born in Red Lion, PA and was the son of George W. and Doris V. (Kinard) Knaub. Jim was very active as a farmer and maintained his family farm until he was involved in a motor vehicle accident which left him wheelchair bound. During his time as a farmer, he enjoyed showing tractors at shows such as the Steam-O-Rama. He also spent many hours of dedicated service with the Dallastown Fire Company and served as chief for some of that time. In addition to the above, Jim also delivered coal for to local residents and knew many citizens of the Red Lion area. Jim leaves a sister, Joanne Knaub of Felton, and a stepdaughter, Cindy Jewell of Harrisburg. He also leaves behind a large team of caregivers who have become close friends. He considered Dolores Repman his adopted daughter and Jen Repman his adopted granddaughter. Karen and John Krone, Beverly and Dan Markey, and Theresa Becker not only provided care for Jim, but more importantly spiritual guidance. Jim was also preceded in death by his beloved cat, Fluffy. Family and friends are invited to share condolences on Thursday, March 3rd at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. The viewing will begin at 9AM. A Service of Honor and Praise for Jim will begin 10AM at the funeral home with Rev. Tom E. Beck, pastor of St. Peters Church in Seven Valleys, officiating. Burial will follow the services at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Those planning to attend the services are asked to please come casually dressed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Dallastown Fire Company or Steam-O-Rama, EASE&OES, PO Box 652, Red Lion, PA 17356 or to the Dallastown Fire Company, 50 S. School Place Dallastown, PA 17313. Online condolences may be offered at: www.BurgFuneralHome.com
