Jovin M. Dietz

July 13, 1995 - December 3, 2014

Jovin "Jovi" M. Dietz entered into rest unexpectedly on Wed., Dec. 3, 2014, at York Hospital at 12:42 p.m. at the age of 19. He was born in Yoe on July 13, 1995, and was the son of Melissa A. (Shellenberger) Denton and her fiance Aaron W. Shaw of Greensboro, Md. and the late Michael D. Dietz . Jovi worked as a server at the Dallastown Family Restaurant. Surviving besides his mother and her fiance are two brothers, Brooks Morris of Brogue, Lonnie Denton III of Airville; and a sister, Korin Dietz of York; a niece and cousins; two maternal aunts, Lori Shellenberger of York and Ruth Shellenberger of Dover; a maternal uncle, Douglas Shellenberger of York; a paternal aunt, Wendy Walker and her husband Carl of Lancaster; his maternal grandmother, Becky Shellenberger of Dallastown. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place with Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Family and friends are invited to extend their condolences on Wed., Dec. 10 from 6 to 7 p.m. A Memorial Service of Honor and Praise for Jovi will begin at 7 p.m. on Wed. at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Fillmore of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Long Level will officiate. Burial will be private at Windsor Cemetery at the convenience of the family In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be offered to York County Human Services Fund, c/o Drug Treatment for those under 21 years of age, 100 W. Market St., Suite 301, York, PA 17401. Jovi was a wonderful, hardworking young man who had a great sense of humor and always shared his smile with everyone he met. He loved skate boarding, snowboarding and walking everywhere he needed to go. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. If you knew Jovi, you knew he loved to have fun. "If tears can build a stairway and memories a handrail, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again. We all miss you little brother."
