Judith Elaine (Stallworth) Wells

November 23, 1942 - October 31, 2020

Judith Elaine (Stallworth) Wells, of Airville, took the hand of her Lord and Savior, when He called her name, on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 5:20 am, at her residence at the age of 77. She was the former wife of the late Douglas T. Wells, who entered into rest on December 6, 2008. Elaine was born in Macon, Georgia on November 23, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Wiley H. and Doris Virginia (Cavendar) Stallworth. She was a rural route carrier with the United States Postal Service, retiring after 16 years of service. Elaine was a longtime member of New Covenant Community Church in Airville. She had a big heart and would always put the needs of others before her own needs, especially her family. She loved making people happy, but above all, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ. She leaves behind her son with whom she resided, Sidney “Tony” Wells of Airville, and a daughter, Sheila V. Lake of York. She was the loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, Ashley Hodack, Derik Cooley, Krista Musso, Colby Davis, Kyle McGarry, Dustin Wells and Olivia McGarry and seven great grandchildren, Woodrow Vasellas, Owen Vasellas, Vivian Musso, Alba Davis, Rosalind & Benson McGarry and Koltyn Cooley. Elaine has a brother, Wiley Stallworth Jr., and a sister Carol Charles, both of Macon, Georgia, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine also leaves her Mastiff “Big Baby Boy”, Malachi. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles T. Wells in 1993 and her brother, Tommy Stallworth in 1972. Viewing will be on Tuesday, November 10th, from 6-7 pm at Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A Service of Honor and Praise will begin at 7 pm at the funeral home with her pastor, Rodney E. Anderson, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience to the family at McKendree United Methodist Cemetery. Those attending the service are asked to bring masks and follow the social distancing guidelines as set forth by our governor. Contributions in memory of Elaine may be offered to the Community Reach, Inc., 15 1st Ave. Red Lion, to assist those in need with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
