L. Kathleen "Kathy" (Boeckel) Richardson

December 6, 1923 - December 6, 2015

Kathleen "Kathy" (Boeckel) Richardson went home to be with her Lord and Savior, after a lengthy illness, on her birthday, Sunday, December 6 at 3:10 p.m. at Manor Care South at the age of 92. She was the wife of Stewart "Stew" M. Richardson of Red Lion.Kathy was born in Red Lion in the home she and Stew shared throughout their marriage and was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Herman) Boeckel. Kathy worked for 25 years with Penn Laurel Girl Scout Council, retiring in 1985. She was a member of AARP, Red Lion Historical Society, Red Lion Senior Citizens, a former member of the Business and Professional Woman and a life member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion where she participated in Sunday School. Surviving her are her husband, Stew; cousins; and Mona Hodgson, her Pen Pal from York, England. She was preceded in death by her stepson, Private Jeffery Allen Richardson, who entered into rest on May 22, 1969 after his helicopter was shot down during the Vietnam War. There will be no viewing. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, will be assisting the family with the arrangements. Graveside Service of Honor and Praise for Kathy will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10. Family and friends are asked to meet at the entrance to Susquehanna Memorial Gardens at 10:15 am. Her pastor, the Rev. Tim A. Funk, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave., Red Lion, PA, 17356Kathy and Stew were married on July 25, 1958, celebrating 57 wonderful years together. Stew fondly remembers Kathy as being a very caring, kind, gentle and loving wife. They enjoyed each others companionship and spending time together, especially traveling.In life I LOVED YOU DEARLY, in death I LOVE YOU STILL. In my heart I hold a place, that ONLY YOU CAN FILL.
