Paul A. Fleegle

October 31, 1943 - March 10, 2020

Paul A. Fleegle, of Red Lion, entered into rest after a brief illness on March 10, 2020 8:55pm at Wellspan York Hospital surrounded by his loving family at the age of 76. He was the husband of Betty J. (Penrod) Fleegle, with whom he married on August 20, 1966, celebrating 53 years together. He was born in Cumberland, Maryland on October 31, 1943, and is the son of the late Isaac Clinton and Helen Marie (Funk) Fleegle. He worked for Johnson Controls for 46 years as a tester until his retirement in July 2017. Paul was a United States Navy Veteran. He loved hunting, antique cars as well as car shows and was a member of the American Legion Post #543 and he was a member of Goram Baptist Church Besides his wife, he leaves behind his son, Andrew C. Fleegle and Lisa Miller of York Haven, two daughters, Elizabeth “Betsy” D, Pantano and Carmine W. of Brogue, and Kimberly J. Vicars and Parrish of Aberdeen, Maryland. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, Maria and Wyatt Fleegle, Allison and Georgia Pantano, Emily and Katie Cramer, Melody Knaby and husband Steven, two great grandchildren, Lily Eller and Tomas Hydt, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Ivan and Newman. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Bud Fleegle, Ralph Fleegle, Mary Lois Hogan, Janet Stuff, Alice Babes Short, Jeanie Smith, Linda Romanti and Polly Wambaugh A viewing will be on Monday, March 16, 2020, from 10am – Noon at Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion. A service of Honor and Praise for Paul will begin at Noon with Rev. Steven A. Schmuck, and Fred G. Widdowson, of Lake Marburg Baptist Church, leading the service. Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with full military rites offered by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Road, Red Lion or to the Cancer Patient Help Fund, York Health Foundation, 50 N. Duke Street, 2nd Floor York, PA 17401.
